Indices that track the performance of BESS assets in the GB market.

Returns a daily revenue time series for an index of BESS assets, broken down by revenue stream. Revenue is reported in £/MW/hr by default. Set metric=energy to normalise each revenuestream by asset duration and report in £/MWh/hr instead.Full methodology is available here.

Indices are available by duration or as an aggregate. ESR 1hr is an index of one hour (±10%) batteries, ESR 2hr is an index of two hour (±10%) batteries, and ESR Aggregate is an aggregate of all durations.

Trading revenue can be returned using BESS Analytics' Smart Price, Elexon's market price or the dayahead price.

Whether Capacity Market revenue is included in the totals. When true, the Capacity revenue stream is included in total; when false, only Response, Reserve, Trading and Balancing are included and the Capacity field is omitted from each record.

Controls how revenue is expressed. power (the default) reports revenue per MW of nameplate capacity. energy divides each revenue stream by the asset duration, reporting revenue per MWh of energy capacity.

Specifies the type of rate to apply, either 30d avg for a 30-day rolling average or spot for the daily spot rate. When 30d avg is selected the first 30 days of the series are consumed by the rolling window and are not returned.

Retrieves data up to and including the specified date. Can be used together with from_date to fetch data within a defined date range.
